Carry out paint analysis beforehand to prevent over specification.
- Ensure product is tested to BS 476 Part 6 and Part 7, and achieves Class 0, over the Warrington Fire Research "Blue Board".
- Examine test reports to see BS 476 tests for the whole paint system, not just one coat of the system.
- Make sure the product is applied correctly so that it performs in the event of a fire.
- Ensure manufacturer carries out full post contract inspection to guarantee full protection.
- Think of the future! - is the system re-coatable whilst still maintaining Class 0, and does it have the test reports to prove this?
